#ABOUT US

WE TRY TO BE THERE WHERE IT IS NEEDED, TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY AID!

The Ben Heart Foundation, founded in 2003, supports small-scale projects in Indonesia and Bali by providing housing, renovating homes, providing basic necessities, arranging medical care, and educating children. Music connects and brings joy. Through Ben Heart’s musical performances, he reaches children and adults alike. Ben Heart’s core mission is to make the world a better place for the poor and needy people of Indonesia.

What has been accomplished since 2003?

Payment of hospital costs and medication for seriously ill or disabled children whose parents cannot afford these costs.

Music facilities for the Grace House and the Elisama children’s homes in Bali, including workshops, musical instruments such as guitars, djembe, and keyboards for making music and singing together.

Provision of: furniture, beds, mattresses, sheets, a gas stove and gas cylinders, clothing, school uniforms, and basic necessities (vitamins, groceries) for the children’s homes.

Financial support for families with children and families with children with disabilities. Support for Jembatan Senang in Candidasa, a project/school for children with intellectual and physical disabilities (such as school bags and personal care products).

Offering education and training and encouraging participation in special education programs.

For at least four months a year, Ben and Ineke, along with their Special Friends and the Bali team, Ibu Yani and Nonja Hana, personally oversee that everything gets where it needs to be. They visit the various projects and families who have requested assistance from the BHF. The Bali team supervises the projects when Ben and Ineke are in the Netherlands.

This team monitors, facilitates, and organizes visits to families, schools, and projects. Currently, the team is coordinating the procurement and distribution of 1,100 food parcels to the elderly, families, and children’s homes in Bali and Java. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 80% of the population is unemployed, meaning they have no income and no food.
